BUSHENYI
The Bishop for west Ankole Diocese, Rt Rev Johnson Twinomujuni on Sunday 14th January, 2024 transferred Clergy across West Ankole Diocese reassigning numerous individuals to new positions.
The transfers affect priests top offices, Archdeacons and those in institutions. Notably, among top officials transferred include l; Ven Rev John Makuru who has been transferred to St. Peter’s Cathedral Bweranyangi as New Sub-dean and Mission, Rev Laban Mwijuka has been transferred to Kyeizooba Archdeaconry as the Archdeacon.
Other notable changes that have received approval for new roles are Rev Samson Agaba who takes over as New Archdeacon Bugongi Archdeaconry, Rev Laban Batungire as the New Archdeacon Ishaka Urban, Rev Can Arthur Atwiine has been appointed the new Archdeacon Kitagata Archdeaconry.
On the transfer list is also Rev Can Bethwell Namara who has been appointed the Archdeacon for Kyanyakatura Archdeaconry and Ven Rev Can Benon Muhwezi who goes to Kabwohe Archdeaconry a an Archdeacon.
Bishop Twinomujuno further appointed Mr Cranmer Karuhanga to the position of Diocesan youth Worker whereas Rev Chris Atuhwerire was appointed the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Ankole Western University (AWU)- Kabwohe.
Others are Ven Rev can Busesire New household and Father’s Union Coordinator (Bishop’s Office), Rev Ven Joseph Mweyungye, Diocesan Secretary and Rev Edson Rukundo has received approval for his new role as Diocesan Treasurer.
Insiders say the transfers have already been set in motion and priests have already received their appointment letters of these transfers which takes immediate effect.
