Bufumbira South Member of Parliament, Hon. Alex Niyonsaba, has demonstrated his support and compassion for the victims of a series of mysterious fires that have plagued Matarama village, Muramba Sub County.
A family consisting of eight households, approximately 40 individuals, have lost their belongings, including clothes and mattresses, and sustained injuries from stones hurled at them. The family sought refuge in a local church within Gisozi parish, but even there, they were not safe.
Hon. Niyonsaba’s political assistant, Martin Hakizimana, who also serves as the Muramba LCV councillor, expressed gratitude for the legislator’s quick response. Each household received 10 kilograms of beans and 10 kilograms of maize flour.
The Chairman of Muramba sub-county LC3, Nzabona Francis, also commended Hon. Alex Niyonsaba for his dedication and generosity.
The family members revealed that their lives had been filled with turmoil ever since one individual returned from Buganda and disturbed his mother’s resting place.
The ensuing unrest has prevented them from freely attending to their gardens due to the fear of being engulfed by flames when isolated. Moreover, they felt apprehensive about interacting with the community due to the trauma they had experienced.
