At least one suspect has been arrested for kidnapping an 8-months-old baby in Kebisoni Town council, Rukungiri District.
The victim’s father Francis Bogere, a resudent of Garubunda dealing in coffee trade in Kebisoni Town council alleges that the suspect went to the shop and found a baby his shop and found the child’s mother busy doing household chores while the baby was playing and he kidnapped it.
He says that after a worthwhile, the mother noticed the child missing and alerted the neighbors who immediately commenced on the search. Fortunately, the residents after at least two hour search arrested the suspect as he tried to sneak into a taxi with the child.
The suspect is currently being detained at Buyanja Police station on charges of child theft.
