Locals of Oloo Lango B`, Ayira parish, Barr Sub County in Lira District are in great shock after the discovery of the rotting body of a new born baby allegedly abandoned by its mother.
The body of the child was discovered in the bush by children who had gone to tether goats at around 11am on Friday.
The chairperson Child Protection in Ayira Parish, Alex Okello condemned the act of women giving birth to babies and abandon them for fear of taking responsibilities.
The body was conveyed to a health facility in Lira as police is investigating the alleged mother of the baby.
