The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, held a meeting on Monday with a delegation from China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO).
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Mbuya in Kampala.Mr. Liang Hongda, NORINCO’s General Manager of the African and American Department, led the delegation that visited Gen. Kainerugaba.
During the meeting, both sides reflected on their 38-year-long strategic relationship that began in 1986.
Gen Kainerugaba who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, congratulated NORINCO on its position as the largest aerospace and defense company in the world, with an annual revenue exceeding 82 billion dollars.
The Chinese delegation also extended an invitation for the Ugandan General to visit China, his last visit being 14 years ago.
The meeting was also attended by the UPDF Artillery Division Commander, Brig. Gen. Dan Kakono.
