Parrots UG |Undercover Report.
The Rubaga North area Member of Parliament, Abubaker Kawaalya is sitting on exploding bombs after unearthed reports pinned him to be behind false media reports that his fellow National Unity Platform member, Hon. James Mubiru, also a councilor representing the people of Rubaga North in KCCA is receiving brown cheque envelopes from the incumbent government.

Mubiru who has been battling prolonged illnesses at Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi since he was released from jail where he allegedly faced torture that affected his body organs, has been sending out messages to kind Ugandans and the NUP supporters to contribute towards his hospital bills to enable him undergo operations either in UK, India as recommended by Doctors at the Agha Khan.

Soon after the release of his message, media propaganda started spreading like wildfire reporting that he (Mubiru) had received money from the government through the Prime minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja to assist him in settling medical bills.

The false reports that were first published by Next Media’s Nile Post News blog alleged that Mubiru had turned to PM Nabbanja for medical cash when not.

“Greetings from the bottom of my heart and let me take this opportunity to thank you for the good work of serving our nation directed towards securing the future of Ugandans. I hereby request your esteemed office for financial support towards my travel abroad for further medication,” Nile post reported in a doctored letter purported to Mubiru.

The post that went viral on social media would soon or later find its space on other self-proclaimed blogs such as the “News Editor Online,” whose unverified reports indicated that the National Unity Platform was to investigate Councilor Mubiru over similar allegations.

“Our sources at Kamwokya have however, today evening told this website that where smoke is, so is fire. There must be investigations into this allegation to find out whether Mubiru is clean,” read excerpts of unattributed comments on News Editor Online. Full report:

The inept blogsite did not stop but continued to allege that Hon Mubiru was not sick and on admission at Agha Khan Hospital as he stated but somewhere else feasting on bear and pork, referring to him as a conman who using sicknesses to extort money from Ugandans.

On December 30, 2021, the bedridden Mubiru issued a statement dismissing claims that he had requested for money from PM Nabbanja contrary to media reports.

“It has come to my notice that there is a letter purportedly written by me to Mrs. Robinah Nabbanja, requesting for financial support for my medical treatment. The letter also castigates my party for not doing enough to assist me,” Mubiru said before adding;

“I wish to make it clear that the said letter is fake, clearly intended to sow seeds of discontent between me and my party.”

Its was later established that the rifts have internal forces within the National Unity Platform, with the incumbent Rubaga North MP Abubaker Kawalya alleged to be the initiator of the propaganda.

Reports indicate that the former Kampala Capital City Speaker Abubaker Kawalya – now MP in the 11th Parliament is playing these malicious games intended to tarnish Mubiru’s name whom corridors say is envisaging his seat (Rubaga North county MP seat) in the 2026 election.

In related news, Parrots UG has learned that Hon. Mubiru has been discharged from Kenya’s Agha Khan hospital and recommended to seek further medical treatment from more specialized hospitals to treat his health conditions.

While at Agha Khan, Mubiru was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and pancreatitis likely to cause cancer.

Upon his discharge, he narrated his health plight still in Uganda, at Agha Khan and hailed doctors, Ugandans, NUP party leadership for both care, prayers and financial support rendered to him during this trying moment.

“I started the medical check up with Lubaga hospital where I was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis, pancreatitis and was recommended for further investigations. I was advised to go to Mulago and results manifested the same from where I was airlifted to Agha Khan Hospital Nairobi.”

“Unfortunately, Agha Khan has also discharged me with recommendations for further management from specialized facilities with high specialized medical care most preferably from abroad countries like UK, USA, India and Germany,” he explained.
He appealed to Ugandans to keep him in prayers and asked for God’s intervention to enable him go for further check ups in the US.
