A police officer in Nansana municipality Wakiso district has been arrested on allegations of shooting dead his lover accusing her of cheating on him with other men.
The suspect is Corporal Sam Olupo, a police officer attached to Katwe Police, he is alleged to have shot dead Sarah Nabukenya, a teacher at Buddo Preparatory School, whom he faulted for denying him his conjugal rights yet she was dishing it out to other men.
According to eye witnesses, Olupo stormed Nabukenya’s residence and started quarreling with her, before he suddenly opened fire, killing her and injuring a neighbour who was trying to calm him down.
He later fled the scene with the AK-47 he had used to murder Nabukenya but latest reports indicate that he has beeen arrested.
Nabukenya’s body was later conveyed to the KCCA Mortuary in Mulago for postmortem.
By the time of compiling this report, Police had not issued any official communication on the murder by shooting and the suspect’s arrest.
