Kasese – Police in Kasese district are holding a 28-year elderly person blamed for taking a 3 weeks year old child.
The suspect is Loice Katusiime, an inhabitant of Kidodo, Kasese region and is presently being held at Kasese central police headquarters.
The kid has a place with Nelia Nyakato and Brian Muyonjo, all occupants of rail route ward.
The Rwenzori East Regional police representative Nelson Tumushime revealed to Uganda Radio Network on Friday that Katusiime took the infant from the guardians on Wednesday at around 9:00pm and vanished with her to obscure objective.
The local people and police mounted a man chase for the suspect until they discovered her with the kid at her home.
Tumushime says they are exploring the make a difference to set up the expectations of the suspect.
Nyakato says the presume who has been an intermittent guest to the family on that evening moved toward her without articulating a word and snatched the infant from her prior to taking off.
She adds that Katusiime left while saying she would execute the child.
The mother alarmed police and occupants who figured out how to capture the suspect.
But Katusime told police that she acted unknowingly under the influence of liquor.
