An unidentified assailant armed with a panga was shot dead after he resisted arrest during a house raid in Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso district.
The incident occured on Monday (April 29) in Bongole zone, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso district at around 1:30am.
It is reported that the forcibly entered the residence of Ms. Ayebare Anita, 25 years old, a resident of Bongole Zone, while she was having breakfast with her children and violently demanded for Shs5 million from Ayebare and when she failed to give him the money, the suspected turned her aggression towards the children who he cut using the panga.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police identified the victim’s as Atuhaire Lucia (2 yrs), Ampaire Maria Zoe (5 yrs), Musiime Blair (7 yrs), and Ankunda Godius (14 yrs).
He noted that police with the help of locals in Mirimu Zone subdued the suspect and was shot dead after he resisted arrest.
The children were immediately rushed to Nalujja Medical Center, Bata Bata Entebbe road, for urgent medical attention in critical conditions.
“The body of the suspect was conveyed to the city mortuary Mulago for postmortem, as investigations continue with the aim of ascertaining his identity and motive,” Owoyesigyire explained.
