Jude Callaghan Helping Hands, a philanthropic organization together with partners on November 25, 2023 visited and donated amazing gifts and goodies to orphaned and vulnerable children at Mission Changing Lives Charity Home in Namusera, Wakiso district.
According to the organization, the decision to visit the charity home culminated to a growing desire to contribute positively to society.
“The stark reality of countless children deprived of the fundamental joy of a family intrigued us and we decided to spend a day at a local orphanage to find a deeper understanding of their lives,” said CEO Jude Helping Hands, Judith Elizabeth Callaghan.
In a glamorous event, the organization donated a number of items including food items, latrine and laundry, beddings, sanitary pads and scholastic materials to the children. They were also engaged in physical exercises and entertainment activities like dances, singing and games. Other activities included tree planting to promote climate change.
Callaghan commended Bruce Tumwesigye, Co-founder Mission Changing Lives and his team, Jude Helping Hands and partners for a successful visit.
“It was with great pleasure I joined Bruce and his team, to help orphans in Uganda, we brought food and supplies that were urgently needed. Thank you to everyone who participated,
Jude Callaghan’s helping hands,” she said.
On the other hand, the CEO Mission Changing Lives Samuel Byakatonda hailed the donors and urged to members of the public to always extend charities to the orphans, the needy and elderly in their communities.
“Money is not the only commodity that is fun to give. We can give time, we can give our expertise, we can give our love, or simply give a smile. What does that cost? The point is, that none of us can ever run out of something worthwhile to give,” said Byakatonda
Bruce Tumwesigye, Co-founder Mission Changing Lives had this to say; “Life has taught me that respect, caring and love must be shared, for it’s only through sharing that friendships are born.” “Taking care is one way to show your love. Another way is letting people take good care of you when you need it.”
Quoting Mohammad Fasha, Bruce said, “you are better than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
He added, “If we can all contribute to charity, the world would be a beautiful place to live.”
On promoting climate change he stressed that, “If you cut a tree, you kill a life. If you save a tree, you save a life. If you plant a tree, you plant a life.” – Trees make the environment cleaner and provide us with oxygen.
Over 28 children between the age of 8-15 years were gifted during this visit.
Thank you for sharing, sharing is Caring
