A 37-year-olld Allan Nuwashaba Rukooza has been confirmed dead after he got involved in a brawl at a trading centre in Mitooma District.
It is alleged that Rukooza, resident of Kirera village,Mushunga Parish in Mitooma district on the night of Tuesday 2nd August 2022, at around 0200hrs while in Kakesa Trading Centre , Mushunga Parish , Mitooma sub-county engaged in a quarrel with a one Kamukama Edson, 36, a resident of the same address that sparked off a fight.
In a fight, the deceased was injured on the head and he later filed assault case was at Mushunga Police Post on August 2.
Further preliminary reports indicates that Rukooza’s conditions worsened and was rushed to Ishaka Adventist Hospital the next day, unfortunately, he died on the way to the hospital.
The body of the deceased was taken back to Mitooma HCIV and postmortem was conducted.
According to a medical report by the health workers at the health facility, the deceased succumbed to traumatic brain injury.
The greater Bushenyi police spokesperson ASP Martial Tumusime has confirmed to this report stating that the suspect, Edson Kamukama has been arrested to help in investigations.
Kamukama is currently detained at Mitooma Police Station as inquiries are ongoing.
