Speaking to Parrots Media, Aguuda listed out a “Three Part Plan” of critical issues for Hoima district if elected to this seat

The youthful candidate pledged to resolve among other critical issues rampant land grabbing, inadequate flow of information on oil and lack of inclusiveness in the leadership in Hoima and Bunyoro region as a whole.

According to him, there is a problem of poor flow of information between oil companies in Bunyoro subregion and the locals on how to benefit from this oil. He attributed this challenge to leaders feed voters with the wrong information which does not only misinform but also cripples development.

He noted that his election for Hoima district LCV chairmanship will help in bridging the information gap between leaders and their voters as well as promoting leadership inclusion of all persons.

The Hoima district LCV seat fell vacant on March 17, 2023 following the sudden death of their Chairperson Kirungi Kadiri who died in a Motor accident.

At least two candidates Patrick Musinguzi (FDC) and Moses Aguuda (NUP) have so far been fronted by their parties in Hoima DLG LCV by-election. NRM is yet to nominate their candidate while other political parties have not yet issued out any communication.

According to a roadmap issued by the Electoral Commission, the nomination of candidates will be conducted on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st August 2023 at the Office of the District Returning Officer, Hoima.

Nominated candidates will conduct campaign meetings for twelve (12) days, that is, from Friday 1st September to Tuesday 12th September 2023.

Polling and tallying of results for the by-election of the District Chairperson, Hoima will be conducted on Thursday 14th September 2023.
