The Bulambuli county MP Isaac Katenya has asked government to provide his voters with guns to guard themselves against Karamojong warriors.
Katenya alleges that the Kjong as they are popularly referred to have continued to cause insecurity in the district raiding people’s cartels among other insecurity.
Government deployed Anti Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) and Local Defense Unit (LDU) in the Elgon area over the theft of stock that had ravaged the area.
However, the legislator says the deployment is inadequate and call for the arming of residents themselves to rescue their cows.
