President Museveni has sent sincere warning to district administrators against laxity that is making COVID-19 vaccines expire in storage facilities at the districts.
President Museveni has threatened to dismiss any RDC, Chief Administrative Officers, District Health Officers in whose districts the vaccines will be reported expired.
“All RDCs, CAOs, DHOs must carry out sensitisation for all illegible priority groups to be vaccinated so that no vaccines are wasted or left to expire. If any vaccine expires in your area, I will dismiss you.” Museveni threatened.
He urged district administrators to move from the comfort of their offices and go on the ground to sensitize and mobilize people to sanitize.
He instructed that special categories forexample the Teachers, frontline healthworkers, security personnel and post secondary students above the age of 18 years should be mobilized to corporate and vaccinate.
The president was addressing the nation on COVID-19 updates in the country at State House Nakaseero.
