Few hours after the presidential visit in the Rwenzori sub region – (Kasese district), death has robbed the district of its ex Boss, Mzee Jethro Mbayahi.
Mzee Mbayahi died last night at Mulago – Kiruddu General Referral hospital where he was receiving medical treatments.
The deceased according to the Rwenzori sub-region political archives served as the Chairman LCV, for Kasese district for one term between 1987-92.
He was the second district boss after Mr. Moses Kikumu who served for only two years (1985-87).
Hon.Winnie Kiiza, the district WMP and former Leader of the Opposition (LoP) confirmed the blacksmith news.
She said that funeral arrangements for Mbayahi will be communicated soon.
Moses Bwambale, the NUP candidate for LCV Kasese district described the deceased as an inspirational figure in the district leadership.
“We have lost an inspirational figure in the Kasese leadership,” the LCV chairman hopeful, Bwambale wrote on his social media page.
The cause of Mbayahi’s death was by press time not yet unknown but the family said a postmortem report will be released soon after the doctors have issues it.
