Opposition Forces of Change in Uganda are set to hold joint national prayers to pray for the country ahead of Christmas festivities.
The prayers will be conducted at National Unity Platform (NUP) headquarters in Makerere Kavule on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
Reports indicate that several religious leaders have been invited to lead the joint prayers to ask for God’s intervention to bless Uganda with a desired change
Harold Kaija, the Secretary General of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Katonga group said they have been invited and they attend the prayers.
He asked all forces of change to join NUP in celebration of the National Prayers despite their political differences.
Meanwhile, the FDC leadership in Katonga appealed to Ugandans to live within their means during the Christmas festivities and save money for school fees to be able to send their children back to school when the new academic year begins.
“We want to ask religious leaders to speak to those people who have robbed from us, who have oppressed us, who have squeezed us and who have dominated us because we are aware they will be seated in the front seats which are r serves for them. Please! Speak to them and tell them they have oppressed us and they should think this is the time for a transition. Otherwise, this country is doomed,” he said.
The opposition also warned police against interfering with their organized prayers arguing that this is not a political rally but a congregation of people speaking to their God to come and save his nation Uganda from corrupt individuals and bad governance among other challenges.
