More than 100 Katangalese ghetto youths have joined presidential hopefulGen Henry Tumukunde’s ‘Renewed Uganda ‘camp earlier today’s morning.
The members under an umbrella “Virgin voters” are residents of Bwaise Katanga in Kampala.
The marginalized youth blames poor standards of living on government’s laxity to establish schools and other youth empowerment projects in Katanga.
Hecta Kasibante, the group head told reports that they have decided to trust their votes with Gen Tumukunde in whom they believe will liberate them from childhood poverty.
The “Virgin Voters” said the ruling government has forgotten about them something that has kept them in grinding poverty.
Lt.Gen Henry Tumukunde is one of the Ugandans who have so far expressed interests in contesting for Uganda’s top political seat (Presidency) in the forthcoming 2021 elections.
He is on independent ticket under a political group dubbed “Renewed Uganda” whose slogan is ‘Kisoboka – Its Possible. ‘
