Police have called for calm after Buganda Kingdom traditional court clerk was arrested yesterday evening in Lungujja.

On Thursday evening February 29, armed personnel in casual wears invaded Kitunzi zone, Lungujja, Lubaga division in Kampala and started firing live bullets in the air.

A businesswoman identified as Milly Naluwenda, a court clerk at Buganda traditional court was arrested, forced into a waiting white drone car and taken to unknown detention.

Eyewitnesses reported that Naluwenda was abducted. This caused tension in the area because the incident occured few days after a resident, Lwomwa Daniel Bbosa – the head of Ndiga clan was killed in a gunshot .

Commenting on the alleged kidnapping on Friday, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, SSP Patrick Onyango said Naluwenda was arrested by police to aid in the ongoing investigation without divulging to details.

“Last night, the Crime Intelligence unit conducted an operation in the Lungujja area of Rubaga Division in Kampala, resulting in the arrest of one suspect, Milly Naluwenda. The arrested individual is held to aid the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Uganda Police Force.” Onyango said.

Police called on members of her family to remain calm as investigations progress. It remains unclear whether Naluwenda’s arrest is linked with the murder of Omutakka Lwomwa or other crimes.
