The focus of the operation was to apprehend the notorious individuals who were known for selling and using marijuana and other narcotics in the above-mentioned areas, then spreading out into the city of Mbarara to engage in criminal activities. A total of 57 suspects, including three females, were taken into custody during the operation. Exhibits of marijuana and other illegal drugs were also confiscated from the suspects and are currently being held at CPS Mbarara.

All the apprehended suspects have been charged accordingly and are awaiting screening and further court action. This crackdown is part of ongoing efforts by the Police to maintain law and order in Mbarara City, ensuring the safety and security of its residents.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Rwizi Region, SP Kasasira Samson, emphasized the importance of such operations in ridding the community of criminal elements and making the city a safer place for all. The Police will continue to work tirelessly to combat crime and uphold the rule of law in Mbarara City and its surrounding areas.
