President Salva Kiir Mayardit recieved and met with Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi who paid a courtesy call on him at his official residence in Juba yesterday.
In attendance were, Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs Hon. Tut Gatluak Manime and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Beatrice Khamisa Wani.
During the meeting, Hon. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi conveyed a message of Greetings from the Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah Al Burhan and Sudanese Prime Minister H.E. Abdalla Hamdok to H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit and his guest discussed matters of mutual interest between South Sudan and Sudan as well as regional issues.
In her remarks to the media after the meeting, Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi said , she is very proud of H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit for the leadership roles he has played in strengthening the bilateral relations between South Sudan and Sudan.
Hon. Mariam Al-Sadiq said, H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit has assured her of great importance of working together for the interest of the people in two countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Beatrice Khamisa Wani said South Sudan is the first Country Hon. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi has visited following her appointment as the Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs simply because of the historical relations the two Countries share.
Theyalso reviewed the areas of cooperation between the two Countries.
