Rotary District 9214 Governor (DG) Daniel Mukasa Ddamulira has commissioned two projects done by Rotary Club of Kasese Snow Peaks and partners during his official visit to the Club.

DG Ddamulira commenced his tour by commissioning a newly equipped Neonatal Unit at Rukoki General Hospital. The vital facility was stocked with state-of-the-art medical equipment worth UGX 129 million, funded through a joint partnership between the Rotary Club of Kasese Snow Peaks and Winchester Rotary (UK) under Rotary International Global Grant 268814.
The commissioned life-saving equipment includes:
• Infant incubators – 5 units
• Baby cots – 8 units
• Patient monitors – 3 units
• Syringe pumps – 2 units
• Rolling stands – 2 units
• CPAP machine – 1 unit
• Oxygen concentrator – 1 unit
• ECG machine – 1 unit
• Phototherapy machine – 1 unit
During the commissioning, DG Ddamulira stated: “I want to deeply appreciate the Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Kasese Snow Peaks, the Kasese district leadership, and the hospital management for the exceptional work done here. However, I must task the hospital management to take excellent care of this equipment so that it serves its purpose effectively. Moving forward, I promise Rotary’s continued commitment to supporting healthcare initiatives at Rukoki General Hospital.”
Additionally, the District Governor commissioned a newly constructed patient waiting shelter at another health facility (Railway Health Center III) to improve comfort and service delivery for mothers and patients.

The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kasese District, Lt. Maate Magwara, lauded the initiative, expressing his appreciation for Rotary’s timely intervention and its continuous support toward government developmental programs.
Echoing these sentiments, Dr. Wefula Edward, the Medical Superintendent of Rukoki General Hospital, extended his gratitude to Rotary, emphasizing that equipping the Neonatal Unit is a monumental stride toward saving infant lives in the region.
The high-profile commissioning event was also attended by Hon. Muhindi Eliphazi, the Chairperson LC 5 of Kasese District, alongside Mr. Kikusa Mustafa, the Principal Secretary in the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
