Few days after the shocking reports of the death of prominent digital marketeer, John Babirukamu who died by commiting suicide, another city businessman has been found lifeless in the same death.

Simon Bakole, 43, a market Vendor in Nakaseero market Kampala was this morning (Tuesday June 11) found dead and his body hanging on a tree at Hotel Golf Course yard at about 6am.

His body was discovered by the workers at this hotel who immediately informed police.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire said the victim did not have any injuries on his body except those caused by a new rope which he used to hang himself. Police attributed the cause of death to alleged suicide by hanging.

Owoyesigyire noted that they recovered a national ID, work ID and a Mobile Phone belonging to the deceased at the scene of the accident.

Mental Wellness awareness by LEM Mindfulness,

“We recovered a mobile phone at the scene and called some of the numbers to notify his relatives who will help us in inquiries,” he said.

Bakole’s body was according to police taken to City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem and police inquiries are underway.

This is a second incident of suicide involving businessmen in Kampala in a course of less than a fortnight.

The first incident involved a renown digital marketeer, John Babirukamu who committed suicide by jumping off the top floor of Tagore Building in Kamwokya, Kampala late last month.

It was established that before he ended his life, Babirukamu told his family members that he had given life his all but “now I find myself with only emptiness.”

Other cases of suicide have been recently reported in Bulange, Katwe and Kiira. The three incidences one involved an Asian national who jumped off the fourth floor of a hotel. Shukla Chiragkumar, 35, threw himself from top of a hotel and broke his arm. He was rushed to a hospital in Bukoto where he died moments later. Other three suspected suicide cases involved Robert Wanonili, 38, a known cancer patient from Bulenga, and Yunus Budo a chapatti vendor in Katwe whose body was found hanging on a tree near his home in Ndejje Lubugumu, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso district.
