AT least three people have been confirmed dead and scores injured in a road accident along the Kabale- Mbarara Highway.
The accident occured on Thursday morning hours at Rwemiyenje village Rugando sub county Rwampara District.
The Rwizi region police spokesperson ASP Samson Kasasira, a speeding Isuzu bus registration number UAQ 079W, belonging to the Bismarkan Coaches transporting passengers from Kampala to Ntungamo District knocked a Caridina car blue in colour registration number UAV 977P and a Boda Boda registration number UET 535K Bajaj boxer at Rwemiyenje.
“Today the 14/10/2021 at around 1030am Police in Rwampara registered a fatal accident that has claimed three lives,” Kasasira said.
According to Kasasira the deceased who are yet to be identified include two occupants of the Caridina car and a Boda Boda cyclist .
He said police visited the scene of the accident and the deceased bodies have been taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital mortuary.
He said that the Caridina car was heading to Ntungamo from Mbarara while the Boda Boda cyclist was heading to Mbarara.
The cause of the accident has not been established yet and police investigations are underway.
