NEBBI: At least two people have been confirmed dead and 15 others seriously injured in a car accident which involved the convoy for the Forum for Democratic Change – FDC, Presidential candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat.
The accident occurred today at around 2pm as the team was heading to Parombo in Nebbi.
Eyewitnesses say the vehicle which was carrying the candidate’s Public Address system overturned, leaving two members dead.
“Our Vehicle carrying a PA system has just got a nasty accident, 2 people dead and 15 others injured in NEBBI. Pray for us,” the campaign team announced.

The deceased have been identified as Hellen (surname not yet known), the FDC flag bearer Nebbi Municipality Woman Councilor and Zulaika, the incumbent municipal councillor of the same area. Zulaika has been a reknown FDC ground mobiliser in Nebbi.
The team further noted that Amuriat is safe and was at the time of the notice opening FDC party offices in Padyere County, Parombo town in Nebbi District.
Among the injured persons on the truck include; Walter Oyirwoth, the FDC youth league Chairperson Nebbi district and FDC flag bearer LC 3 chairman Atego Sub County who got a skull injury, Grace Owonda the FDC women league chair Nebbi district and also area district women councilor for Erusi Sub County who broken leg, Deogracious, FDC flag bearer for Nebbi Municipality, among others.
