Police in Kanungu are investigating the death of 42-year-old woman found dead in her bedroom.
The deceased is FlorenceTumuramye, a resident of market cell Kihihi town council Kanungu district.
The Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate says the deceased was last seen on Friday evening at her food restaurant in Kihihi Central market.
‘’She was discovered dead in her room on Saturday by Joseph Tukwasibwe, a meat roaster in the same area,’’ Maate said.
Eyewitnesses say the deceased body was lying in the house with her 10yr-old-daughter standing beside it calling out her mother’s name in vain.
The scene was visited and examined, and police taken statements from eyewitnesses. Tumuramye’s body was taken to Kihihi health centre IV for postmortem.
The case of sudden death was registered at Kihihi Central Police station under reference number CRB; 162/2022
By press time, the deceased body had been handed over to relatives for burial.
