The National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi SSentamu, alias Bobi Wine has urged Ugandans to step out of their comfort zones and put on the democratic armors if they want to liberate the country which he says is on attack by the NRM juntas.

Kyagulanyi made the remarks on Tuesday while appearing on a local Television station, Baba TV morning show, “Gangamuka Extra” hosted by a celebrated political show host;  Journalist Adam Kungu.

Kungu asked Kyagulanyi about his ambitious plans to contest for presidency come 2026, but he (Kyagulanyi) insisted the country is still held captive by ‘dictator’ Museveni expressing the need to restore democracy in Uganda.

“You are asking a democratic question when we are still under dictatorship, this is 2021 not 2026 how are you even sure we shall have an election in 2026?” Kyagulanyi challenged a TV Host.

He added, “This country was taken hostage on a gun point by a band of thugs, much earlier in 1986 so we need to liberate this country and return it to the rail of the rule of law. We need to normalize , we need to go back to democracy.”

He retaliated that it each a citizenry responsibility to fight dictatorship for the country to be cleaned from the mess it is in.

On the party decision to decline joining the Interparty Organization for Dialogue (IPOD), Kyagulanyi vowed that till the last drop of his blood, NUP cannot be part of a platform that legitimize the evil deeds of President Museveni and his NRM gov’t.

He added that NUP legislators are part of the Ugandan Parliament because it is a platform of challenging and not legitimizing weaker ideologies like the IPOD.

On continued closure of schools, Kyangulanyi wondered why military and International schools remained open but while the schools of the children of the less privileged Ugandans are closed.

“It is only in Uganda in the whole region where schools are closed yet police and military schools are open, don’t they get infected with COVID 19?” Rhetorical Kyagulanyi asked.

He expressed concerns about the increased number of young girls getting pregnancies during this period accusing the minister of Education for not taking any concerns about these cases.

“The minister of Education in the country, Mr. Museveni’s wife, Janet Kataha came out and said that girls getting pregnant it’s a concern of the parents not the government! It is on record! Mr. Museveni also said there is no problem with girls getting pregnant as long as they are not dead, their children are safe yours and mine are not!” he said.

Kyagulanyi was however quick to say that he does not blame the president and the minister because they have been disconnected from life for the past 35 years.
