It is reported that the suspected did not use the main border entry point at Bunagana but used a Boda Boda to access entry into Uganda.
Residents on the Uganda-DRC border have accused some Boda cyclists and local authorities of aiding suspicious elements to enter into the country. They say that the wrong elements use porous borders at Kugutwe, Mukibaya, Murugabano, Kugusozi all in Nyarubuye Kisoro borderline.
Residents have asked UPDF to reinstate the barracks that was initially in the area to prevent wrong elements from crossing to the country.
In 2013, a member of a suspected member if the Al-shabab terror group was arrested in Kisoro town attempting to cross to DR Congo to join the ADF. This mean the area being on the border of Uganda and several countries is prone to terror groups something likely to cause insecurities to both states.
