Kenneth Kavulu, a journalist at the Mengo government (Buganda Kingdom) owned media house was abducted outside the media building Masengere on Tuesday at 4pm.
BBS Terefayina has reported that kidnappers who were driving in a motor vehicle number UAQ 024G Toyota Mark II vehicle abducted and whisked Kavulu to an unknown place.
According to the media company, attempts to find Kavulu’s whereabouts have remained futile despite reporting to the authorities.

The organisation has issued a number 0785-583-139 for anyone who may have information leading to his whereabouts to inform the management.
Further reports indicate that before the abduction, the journalist was hosting a TV show known as #EmbeeraYomugoteko which covers socio-political, economic and security aspects in Uganda. However, its still uncertain whether the abduction is related to his work.
Local journalists and politicians have taken on their social media handles demanding for Kavulu release.
Former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alias Bobi Wine blames the increased abduction cases of journalists and citizens on the political atmospheres which have caused insecurities to people.
“The regime is at it again. Like we always say, there can be no peace unless and until Gen. Museveni and his criminal regime are out. No one is safe under this environment,” Bobi said
Gabriel Buule Chrispus, a features journalist at Daily Monitor has asked media practitioners not to keep silent while the rights of journalists and the media are being violated
“Let’s not allow media to get silenced, let’s demand the release of Kavulu Kennet. #JournalismIsNotACrime,” Buule said.
