The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has appointment KCCA Lord mayor, Ssalongo Erias Lukwago the party Deputy President in Buganda region.
Lukwago replace Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo who recently defected the party to NRM and was appointed State Minister for ICT by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The appointment of Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has resolved tensions between several FDC stalwarts who have expressed interests in the position.
According to the party deputy Secretary General, Harlod Kaijja, the decision was reached at during the party Central Executive Committee meeting where candidates names were raised and approved.
He said the party has appointed Hon Hassan Kaps Fungaroo the National Mobilization Secretary of the party to replace Turinawe who was suspended from the party after she refused to honor party principles and stood as an independent in Rukungiri for MP ship.
Soroti MP Anne Adeke Ebaju has been appointed the party Deputy President inEastern region replacing Hon Kevin Taaka.
Kaijja has disclosed that the appointees shall be officially announced on Monday and take oaths of allegiance to assume their offices.
