Mbarara
Police in Mbarara District is holding Turyasingura John Paul for the murder by cutting of 24-year-old, Munyankolepeasant, Turinawe Regan. The incident occurred on 3rd November,2023 at around 3 pm in Akashanda Village, Bukiro Kashari, Mbarara District.
According to reports, the deceased and the suspect, John Bosco, had been consuming alcohol together in a local bar owned by Nalongo, when they got into a misunderstanding. Around 3 pm, they then left the bar together, heading for the suspect’s home, where the incident occurred.
It is alleged that the suspect then proceeded to pick up a panga from his house, and proceeded to cut the deceased in the throat and neck, leading to profuse bleeding and ultimate,death.
The matter was quickly reported to Police, who responded to the scene and documented it. The pangs that was used to cut Regan was recovered and exhibited, the suspect apprehended to help with investigations, while the body of the deceased was conveyed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem as confirmed by SP Samson Kasasira the PRO Rwizi regional Police.
