The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) held its annual thanksgiving ceremony at their head office in Nakawa on 16th September ,2023, expressing gratitude to its staff, development partners and taxpayers for their contributions towards the transformation and development of the country.
The event was graced by Madam Hellen Awidi, the representative of the Board Chair URA, who thanked the taxpayers for their sacrifices in developing the country. She also acknowledged the hard work and commitment of the URA staff towards hitting their targets.
John Rujoki Musinguzi,the Commissioner General URA revealed that URA had experienced a five-year period without hitting its target, but he thanked the Lord for changing the name, mark, and brand of the organization. He attributed the success to teamwork and hard work, and stressed the importance of working together towards the prosperity of the country.
“As an organization, we are committing ourselves to the path of integrity, automation to make sure our taxpayers receive good services from us,” he said.
The organization is fully committed to providing better services to its taxpayers, including automating its processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Achieving this requires the continued support and contribution of taxpayers towards the development of the country.
The thanksgiving ceremony was also graced by Rt.Rev. George K Turyasingura the East Rwenzori bishop and Robert Kayanja, who shared words of wisdom and encouraged the URA staff to continue working hard towards the prosperity of the country.
URA plays a pivotal role in Uganda’s development and prosperity, and as such, the organization is grateful for the continued support of the taxpayers towards achieving this goal.
The URA is confident in the Lord’s continued blessings as it strives towards its mandate of revenue collection and national development.
