The National Unity Platform principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has earlier today enjoined mourners to pay tribute to late John Pombe Magufuli, former president of Tanzania.
“Paid last respects to late John Pombbe Magufuli at tththe Tanzania High Commission in Kampala,” Bobi Wine posted on Twitter.
He applauded the people of Tanzania for ensuring a peaceful transition of power after Magufuli’s death.
“We continue to stand with the people of Tanzania as they mourn their leader and salute them for ensuring a peaceful transition in the face of this tragedy,” he said.
In related news, the Bugabula county area member of parliament, Hon. Henry Kibalya Maurice has asked president Museveni to emulate late Magufuli in the way he managed to fight “mafias” in his government.
MP Kibalya made the remarks during a parliamentary plenary to pay tribute to Magufuli today at the parliament of Uganda.
Legislators heaped praises to Magufuli’s leadership especially in fighting against corruption in Tanzania.
Magufuli passed on March 17 at a hospital in Dar es salaam where he had been admitted for a fortnight after experiencing heart complications. He will be buried on Friday (tomorrow) at his home village in Chato.
