The tragic accident occurred on August 25, 2024, at around 10:15 pm, along the Kabale-Kisoro road in Rubanda district, resulting in the death of a bodaboda rider.
Mbabazi Wensislus, a resident of Rutoga cell, Nyarurambi Ward, Rubanda town council, was riding his motorcycle, a Bajaj Boxer with registration number UEU 931B, from Kisoro towards Kabale when he lost control of the vehicle. The motorcycle veered off the road and fell into a trench, causing the rider to hit his head on the pavement.
The tragic incident occurred on August 25, 2024, at around 10:15 pm, along the Kabale-Kisoro road in Rubanda district, resulting in the death of a bodaboda rider.
The police was notified, and the scene was visited, processed, and documented. A post-mortem examination was conducted, and the body was handed over to the relatives.
According to the police report, the primary cause of the accident was over speeding. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving practices
The police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed the incident and urged all road users to exercise caution and follow traffic regulations to prevent such tragic accidents.
