In a show of solidarity and commitment to community development, the Party President, Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat, and Secretary General Rt. Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi led a group of local and political leaders on a trek through Mt. Elgon National Park in Bududa District on New Year’s Eve.

The 30km walk, which started at Mt. Inn Makweta, attracted a diverse group of participants, including Mr. Milton Khamoto, the Bududa LCV Chairman, and Hon. Isaiah Sasaga, the MP for Budadiri East. The aim of the trek was to raise funds for the construction of classroom blocks for Arlington Academy and Masaba Secondary School, both located in Bududa District.

The fundraising drive was a resounding success, with over 70 million Shillings collected. Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat, on behalf of the Party, generously contributed 5 million Shillings, while Hon. Nandala Mafabi contributed 20 million Shillings. The Nandala Foundation also donated 5 million Shillings, and Hon. Sasaga contributed 2 million Shillings, among other donations.

During the event, Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat stressed the importance of embracing and preserving Uganda’s heritage, urging all Ugandans to appreciate the rich cultural and natural resources the country offers.

Secretary General Hon. Nandala Mafabi highlighted the significance of the funds collected, emphasizing that they will be used for the renovation of Masaba Secondary School, a fundamental educational institution, and the construction works of Arlington Academy of Hope Schools.

This initiative not only showcases the Party’s commitment to community development but also highlights the spirit of unity and collaboration among Ugandans. By working together, we can create a brighter future for our nation.
