District councilors attributed the development to the appointment of their son Robert Mukiza as the UIA chief. The vice chairman LCV Mr Alex Nambaje told this website that ever since Robert was appointed as the UIA chief, he has been pushing hard to implement the president’s directive of establishing an industrial park in Kisoro. The district gave UIA 620 acres of land for putting up the business park.

The district chairman Abel Biziimana thanked Robert Mukiza for making sure that the establishment of industrial remains on a steady track. He noted that the titling of the land was done and officially handed over to UIA for action.
General Kale Kayihura also urged the district leadership to continue supporting Uganda Investment Authority in making sure that this idea of the industrial park is realized. “Once this industrial park is here, jobs for our children will automatically come and Kisoro will be out of poverty” Kale stated.
The state minister of Gender Hon Sarah Mateke told Bafumbira to prepare themselves in order to benefit from the industrial park. “Industrialist will need both skilled and unskilled labor, so prepare yourselves to tap into this great opportunity that is coming here in our district “ Sarah said.
