Kawempe North member of parliament, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya has been flown to a hospital in Nairobi for specialized treatment.
Sources say Ssegirinya, who has been bedridden at Nsambya hospital was flown to Agha Khan hospital in Nairobi, today (December 23) in the morning.
The legislator’s lawyer, Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago confirmed to this report and asked Ugandans to keep Ssegirinya in prayers for a quick recovery.
Ssegirinya’s health has been a concern since his release from prison earlier this year, and has been hospitalized at St. Francis Nsambya hospital since November 6.
His other lawyer, Samuel Muyizzi, recently told the International Criminal Division (ICD) of the High court that the lawmaker is suffering a cute medical condition which requires specialized treatment abroad.
Ssegirinya still faces trial together with Makindye West lawmaker, Hon. Allan Ssewanyana over charges of murder, attempted murder, terrorism and abetting terrorism in greater Masaka region in March, 2021.
