Its darklouds in the Jamhuri ya Tanzania as iconic former president Benjamin William Mkapa has passed on earlier this morning.
Tanzania has declared a week to mourn the death of country’s fallen ex president Benjamin Mkapa who passed on today July24th in the country’s city Dar el salaam.
President Dr John Pombe Magufuli who announced the blacksmith news of the death of President Mkapa asked Tanzanians to remain strong, patient and united especially in these trial moments of losing country’s hero.
He directed that all Tanzanian flags must be raise half moist as the country goes into 7 days of mourning.
Benjamin William Mkapa was born on November 12,1938 in Ndanda TZ, he is popularly known for his political contributions in Tanzanian.
Funeral arrangements will according to the Head of public relations in the office of the president be communicated afterwards.
He was the Third President of TZ between 1995-2005. He was also the Chairman of the Revolutionary State Political Party.
He attended Kenyatta University in Kenya (Main Campus) and also Makerere University in Uganda.
Mkapa is not only reknown for his political roles in the East African Community but also for his authorship role. He has authored a number of literature books such as My Life Purpose, A Tanzanian President Remembers among others. His books have hitherto been used by politicians, economists and scholars across the globe.
He died this morning at the age of 8yrs old leaving behind three orphaned children. May He Rest Eternally.
